After January 2009, your chances of getting hired are 1 in 250 only if you apply for a job within the first hour a job posts and your odds continue to increase every minute thereafter. Resumes that are received outside of the hour window have no chance of being reviewed as hiring managers and recruiters look at no more than 250 resumes per position.
Tip: Always use automated tools provided by job boards to submit your resume in the first hour a job is posted.
The New Rules of Avoiding Foreclosure/Eviction:
After January 2009, 8 out of 10 unemployed Americans will experience foreclosure/eviction due to not having 6-months of mortgage/rent saved. These Americans will experience foreclosure/eviction in the near future since it now takes over 6-moths to find a job and receive your first paycheck.
Tip: Save 10% of your gross pay/unemployment until you’ve saved 6-moths of mortgage/rent.
The New Rules of Jobs That Will Be Offered:
After January 2009, the ratio of jobs offering a base salary and benefits is 1 in 10,000 in states with less than 7% unemployment and 1 in 25,000 in states with over 8% unemployment. The ratio of jobs offering no base but the ability to make over $50,000 per year is 1 in 10 in every state and the ratio of jobs offering no base but the ability to make over $100,000 per year is 1 in 25 in every state.
Tip: While waiting for that salaried job, consider spending an hour or two at home in a job offering no base but a chance to earn your desired yearly salary.
