Local Entrepreneur Launches New Golf Apparel Line

Jul 12, 2009 – WEST BLOOMFIELD - HGH’s roots can be traced back to the years when William M. Brown III, a then twenty-something golfer, searched in vain for a line of gear that was functional and comfortable, yet trendy and stylish to wear while on the golf course.  While the fruitless search did not deter his interest in golf, the thought of developing his own clothing line began to manifest.

Flash forward to April 19, 2006 when Jason Grimsley of the Arizona Diamondbacks spent two hours telling federal investigators about the package of human growth hormone he received and his long history with performance-enhancing drugs.  The next day, he pitched 4 1/3 shutout innings for his team.  This sparked the HGH scandal and the idea for HGH Apparel.  

Mr. Brown desired a clothing line that promoted performance enhancement, and decided to blend a popular news story with a bit of wordplay and a touch of sardonic comic relief.  Thus, the birth of HGH Apparel, “Take HGH - - but only when you wear it on the course!”
