Shoe Inn Helps Southwest Nut Company Maintain Emphasis on Food Safety

At their state-of-the-art, ergonomically designed plant in Fabens, TX, Southwest Nut Company (http://www.southwestnut.com) implemented a comprehensive set of operational procedures to ensure they meet the highest standards for food safety. As part of that effort, the company purchased several Shoe Inn automatic bootie dispensers and sterile fabric booties.
Disposable booties are an important shield against dirt, grime, and other contaminants. “But putting other shoe covers on is challenging, especially since you want to avoid contaminating your hands from touching your shoes, not to mention the bending over and contorting in defiance of gravity,” says Jeff Foster, Product Manager for Shoe Inn. Fortunately, automatic shoe cover dispensers help to prevent contamination and maintain a clean, professional environment.
“Using automatic bootie dispensers is much more than just a novelty and a convenience,” noted Foster. The time saved in having booties automatically placed on employees’ shoes—instead of finding a place to sit down or alternately balancing on one leg while trying to put the bootie on the other foot—translates into cost savings for the company. Even bigger possible savings for the company may result from the reduction in potential worker’s comp claims from falls while putting on conventional shoe covers.
