CAMINAR ELECTS TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS
Caminar, a nonprofit agency providing community based support for people with disabilities, announced today that it has elected John H. Clinton, Jr. and Dennis Pantano to its Board of Directors.
(San Mateo, CA) May 19, 2009 - Caminar, a nonprofit agency providing community based support for people with disabilities, announced today the election of John H. Clinton, Jr. and Dennis Pantano to its Board of Directors.
“We are pleased to announce the expansion of Caminar’s Board of Directors to include two new members that are strong community and business leaders in San Mateo County. Their professional expertise and related experience in community based nonprofits add to the diversity of our current board. We look forward to their contributions to help further the mission of Caminar in our efforts to serve individuals with disabilities,” speaking on behalf of the entire Board, Caminar Board President Michael Paolercio stated.
John H. Clinton, an active and engaged community leader, has held executive leadership positions numerous boards in San Mateo County including the San Mateo County Historical Association (1987-2008), and Peninsula Community Foundation (1996-2005). He has held corporate leadership roles as founder, director and funder of United American Bank, in San Mateo. Previously, Clinton served as President and Publisher of The Times, San Mateo.
“Mr. Clinton’s leadership experience in business and his dedication to support non profit organizations will be a valuable asset as we expand our efforts in community outreach and communications. We are fortunate to have his involvement at Caminar,” said Chip Huggins, CEO Caminar.
Dennis Pantano, President of Pantano Properties in San Mateo, holds a California State Brokers License, is a Certified Residential Specialist, and a member of the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers. He is a Senior Real Estate Specialist, with over 33 years of experience and currently is a Commissioner on the San Mateo County Assessment Appeal Board. Pantano has a long history of industry leadership, and has held numerous elected positions on State and County Real Estate Boards including the California Association of Realtors Board(1999-2002) and San Mateo County Association of Realtors Board, where elected President in 2002. A strong advocate of community engagement, Pantano is the founder of “Books for Kids” program; a philanthropic organization that funds the purchasing of books for Peninsula based elementary schools. He received the “Golden Apple” award from the Redwood and San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce, The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors Resolutions Award and State of California Senate Award for his contribution to local educational systems.
“We are delighted to have Mr. Pantano join our Board of Directors. His accomplishments and business acumen in the real estate arena and involvement in County Government is a welcomed resource for Caminar,” stated Huggins. “Much of Caminar’s rehabilitative and recovery programs center around housing support for our clients and his expertise in this area will be valued.”
