ABOUT THE FOUNDERS
The group was formed by Michael Heitner, who was most recently the President of the luxury market jewelry company Verdura. Prior to that he ran NYC based advertising agencies AgencySacks and Heitner Weiss. Heitner developed the RECHARGEnyc concept after spending the last decade of his career in leadership and management positions and observing the issues that continued to surround the work environment and had an effect on productivity. On top of that, he also zeroed in on the urgent need for businesses in today’s climate to make real, solid and good changes in order for their business to continue to compete.
He brought together two partners whom he knew had the right credentials to launch and operate the practice with him, John Kocay and Hilarie Viener, to form RECHARGEnyc. Kocay is a veteran Operations, Human Resources and Facilities Management executive. Kocay and Heitner have a long history, going back to their days as classmates at American University. Viener is the founder of HSV1 Consulting, a marketing consultancy practice that provides clients with a broad span of public communication strategies. Prior to founding this company, she spent a decade in the advertising agency world at such notable institutions as BBDO, Lowe & Partners and Wells Rich Greene. Actually, it was their mutual background in advertising that brought Heitner and Viener together in 2005, when a former colleague of both introduced them and Mr. Heitner hired Ms. Viener as a strategic consultant to his agency.
